Artist's Description

This is a composite using a 1933 Ford coupe hot rod I photographed at a local car show a few years ago. Like many pictures taken at these events, there were quite a number of unwanted distractions. I tried a number of creative strategies to isolate it, but with no success. One afternoon I was messing around with a Fractal generator and it produced the weird design that looked like a tear or an opening. The idea kind of blossomed from there. I wanted it to look like it's jumping into "something". I tried various ideas, planets, fire, stars, a giant eye, but decided to leave it sort of vague as to what's on the other side. That way the viewer could fill in the missing pieces on their own. Overall, the composition came out better than I'd hoped AND I got to brush up on many of the cool tools in Photoshop CS6 as a bonus.

My goal has been as simple as trying to be better than this time last year. (take better pictures, make better drawings, etc...) If nothing else, I think I've accomplished that at the very least. My interest are extensive... sports, cars, architecture, scenic views, plants, animals, etc... so the things you'll find here are images of things I find visually interesting. Below are a few...
